'Brigadoon' is the artist name of singer-songwriter Barnaby Smith. This Blue Mountains show marks the low-key launch of his second album, Everyone & No One, a haunting work of psychedelic, dark folk-inflected melancholy, building upon the foundations of his acclaimed debut album, Itch Factor (2020). On release Itch Factor received five stars and was named Pick of the Week by the Sydney Morning Herald, whileit also attracted praise from Zan Rowe ("this just took me to a complete other place"), Karen Leng ("divine melodies") and others. Everyone & No One was recorded over the course of four years in a suburban Leura garage, with a firm DIY ethic, yet the album is a lush and textured meditation on memory, landscape and childhood.
Toby Martin is a singer, songwriter and the frontman of the beloved indie rock band Youth Group. Over the course of nine albums, Toby has established himself as one of Australia’s most distinctive and adventurous songwriters, combining a plaintive melodic sensibility with finely observed and deeply felt lyrics. Recent records Songs From Northam Avenue and I Felt the Valley Lifting set detailed stories to a backdrop provided by musicians from different cultural backgrounds. His most recent records are 2024’s Song Khúc Lượn Bay (Two Sounds Gliding) a collaboration with Vietnamese-Australian musician Dang Lan and the 2025 album from Youth Group Big Whoop (which was feature album on ABC’s Double J). He is also a co-songwriter and collaborator on the new Uncle Roger Knox record Buluunarbi and the Old North Star. Toby has won an ARIA and toured the world, including performing at Coachella, Reading and Leeds Festival, Laneway and Splendour in the Grass.
